The Establishment & Introduction of the Chamber of Commerce

总商会的诞生与成立的由来，这要追朔于2017年7月4日，从总会长拿督斯里李锦贤与拿督沙孙纬总秘书两人造访当任深圳市统战部副部长兼任市侨联主席及市侨办负责人马勇智先生开始。

马勇智主席很详细介绍了海外深圳社团建设的情况。马主席表示，近年来，深圳市侨务部门在坚持“新侨老侨並重”的基础上，着力拓展新侨工作，在海外新侨集中的重点地区，按照“一城一会”的原则，凝聚力量成立深圳社团（商会），使之不仅成为深圳市开展海外侨务工作紧密联系抓手，也成为深圳市与全球重点国家和地区的桥梁和纽带。

“这一年多来，在深圳市统战部，侨联及侨办的努力推动下，加拿大深圳社团联合总会，美东深圳总商会，澳大利亞深圳总商会，南非-中国深圳总商会等陆续先后成立，一张覆盖全球五大洲的海外深圳大型侨社团网络已见雏形”。马主席非常期待马来西亚深圳总商会的组织和筹备工作早日取得实质性进展，为旅马深圳乡亲及关心支持深圳发展的海外侨胞搭建一个新平台。

在深圳市统战部，市侨联及市侨办领导的支持及指导下，总商会于2017年10月31日顺利注册成功，同时立即展开广招各领域包括经济，工商，科技，教育文化的企业家，专业人士和卓越青年加入成为会员及理事。2018年8月26日，马来西亚深圳总商会在吉隆坡举行成立大会暨首届理事会就职典礼。在880名海内外嘉宾见证下，马来西亚深圳总商会总会长拿督斯里李锦贤率首届全体理事宣誓就职。

马来西亚深圳总商会成立后，在不到一年的时间里已经吸引了大批年轻企业家加入，为促进马来西亚与深圳的经济文化交流发挥重要的作用。2019年5月，马来西亚深圳总商会举办首届中马企业家经贸文化合作座谈会，旨在进一步促进包括马来西亚在内的“一带一路”沿线国家和地区的广大海外侨胞发挥优势，助力“一带一路”拓展延伸，和粤港澳大湾区创新升级，争当见证者、参与者、践行者，对促进中马交流起到了极其积极的作用。

马来西亚深圳总商会的成立，带动了更多的马来西亚青年、企业家与深圳不同层次的企业家对接，引领他们投身到 “一带一路”和粤港澳大湾区建设中，同时带领更多马来西亚优秀的企业走向国际市场，与遍布世界各地的海外深圳人开展深度合作，实现共赢发展。

总商会的成立与简介

The inception and establishment of the Chamber trace back to July 4, 2017, starting with a visit by the President, Dato’ Sri Lee Jin Xian, and the Secretary-General, Dato’ Sar Soon Wei, to Mr Ma Yongzhi, the then Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of Shenzhen and Chairman of the Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.

Mr. Ma introduced the development of overseas Shenzhen associations. He emphasized that the Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Affairs Department, focusing on both new and old overseas Chinese, has been actively establishing Shenzhen associations (chambers of commerce) in key areas with significant overseas Chinese populations. This initiative aims to serve as a bridge between Shenzhen and key countries and regions worldwide.

"In the past year, with the efforts of the United Front Work Department and the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Shenzhen, several overseas Shenzhen associations, including those in Canada, East America, Australia, and South Africa, have been established, forming a global network," said Mr Ma. He expressed high hopes for the swift organization and preparation of the Malaysia Shamchun Chamber of Commerce, providing a new platform for Shenzhen expatriates and supporters of Shenzhen's development abroad.

Supported and guided by the Shenzhen United Front Work Department leaders, the Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, and other relevant authorities, the Chamber successfully registered on October 31, 2017. The Chamber began recruiting members from various sectors, including economy, commerce, technology, education, and culture. On August 26, 2018, the Malaysia Shamchun Chamber of Commerce held its inaugural meeting and the first council inauguration ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, attended by 880 guests from home and abroad. Dato’ Sri Lee Jin Xian, the President of the Chamber, led the first council members in their oath-taking ceremony.

Since its establishment, the Chamber has attracted numerous young entrepreneurs, significantly promoting economic and cultural exchanges between Malaysia and Shenzhen. In May 2019, the Chamber hosted the first China-Malaysia Entrepreneurs Economic and Cultural Cooperation Symposium, aiming to further leverage the strengths of overseas Chinese in Belt and Road Initiative countries, assisting in its expansion and the innovation and upgrade of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Chamber has played an active role in fostering China-Malaysia relations.

The establishment of the Chamber has facilitated more interactions between Malaysian youth and entrepreneurs with Shenzhen counterparts, encouraging their participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and the Greater Bay Area development. It also helps Malaysian businesses venture into the international market, fostering deep cooperation with overseas Shenzhen individuals worldwide for mutual growth.
